ALREADY APPROVED FOR CVAP?

The Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP)
CVAP is a provincial initiative administered by the Government of British Columbia. It provides financial support to:
-
Victims of violent crime
-
IMMEDIATE family members* of victims
-
Witnesses of crime
This funding helps cover the cost of services that support recovery, such as counselling, medical treatment, and protective measures.
*Immediate Family Members includes spouses, children, grandchildren, siblings, step-siblings, half-siblings, parents, and grandparents of the victim.

You may be eligible for CVAP funding if:
✔ The incident was reported to police or another recognized authorit
✔ You are a victim, immediate family member, or witness of a violent crime that occurred in BC
✔ You submit your application:
- Within 2 years of the crime if it occurred on or after January 1, 2024
- Within 1 year if the crime occurred before that date
Exceptions include:
✔ No time limit for victims of sexual offences that occurred after July 1, 1972
✔ Time limits don’t begin for minors until they turn 19

– ANXIETY, PANIC, OR MOOD SWINGS
