Online Counselling
Making Therapy Accessible!
It’s vital for counselling to be accessible so that all your energy can focus on the changes you want to create. For this reason, my practice exclusively provides virtual video appointments. Whether you’re juggling childcare at home or traveling, online therapy can seamlessly fit into your schedule.
What Type of Online Services Do I Offer?
I offer video call therapy sessions for both individuals and couples. You can choose between a standard 50-minute session or a 100-minute “deep dive” session. The deep dive option is ideal for those seeking enhanced learning, integration, and transformative change. It is particularly beneficial for EMDR therapy, allowing for deeper exploration and progress.
How Do I Connect With Clients Virtually?
I use a secure platform called Sessions to connect with clients online. Sessions offers a user-friendly experience similar to Zoom but doesn’t require creating an account.
-
For computers: Simply paste the provided link into your web browser to access my virtual office.

Can my partner and I have a video session if we're in different locations?
Absolutely! Our video platform, Sessions, allows up to three participants in a single session—one therapist and two clients. Whether you’re in the same location or miles apart, both of you can join the session seamlessly using the same login link to my virtual office. It’s designed to keep the connection strong, no matter where you are.
Is Online Therapy Secure and Safe?
Yes! All appointments are conducted via Sessions, an encrypted teletherapy platform. It complies with HIPAA (USA), PHIPA and PIPEDA (Canada), and GDPR (Europe) standards, ensuring your confidentiality and security.
Why Choose Online Therapy Over Traditional In-Person Therapy?
Time is one of the biggest barriers to starting therapy. In today’s fast-paced world, convenience is key. Online therapy combines the human connection of counselling with the flexibility of technology. Global Therapy with Viktoria is designed to provide convenience, accessibility, and privacy, meeting the needs of clients wherever life takes them.
What Are the Advantages of Online Therapy?
-
Flexibility
Schedule your session at a time that works for you, even evenings or weekends. Online therapy accommodates busy schedules, frequent travelers, and caregivers.
-
Accessibility
Whether you’re in a remote area, dealing with mobility issues, or struggling with anxiety or depression, online therapy eliminates the need for travel. All you need is a device and an internet connection.
-
Anonymity
For those hesitant about therapy, online sessions offer an added layer of privacy. Some clients feel more comfortable and in control during virtual sessions compared to in-person ones.
-
Enhanced Privacy
Receive therapy from the comfort of your home, without worrying about being seen in waiting rooms or passing by others at a clinic.
Is Online Therapy as Effective as In-Person Therapy?
Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as evidenced by the findings in this article. Many other studies have also demonstrated that the success of therapy depends on the quality of the relationship between the client and the therapist. To experience the full benefits of therapy, it is essential to find a therapist—whether online or face-to-face—whom you trust, feel comfortable with, and feel empowered by.
How Is Online Therapy Similar to Traditional In-Person Therapy?
-
Sessions are pre-scheduled and time-bound.
-
Confidentiality and privacy standards are upheld equally.
-
The therapist provides a safe, judgment-free space for personal growth and exploration.
Is Everything Shared in Sessions Confidential?
Yes, everything you share with me is kept strictly confidential. However, there are three exceptions to this, as outlined by the BC Clinical Association’s Code of Ethics:
-
To prevent imminent harm to the client or others.
-
When a child or vulnerable adult is at risk of abuse or neglect.
-
When required by a court order to disclose session notes.
If you have concerns, I offer a free consultation to discuss these exceptions further.
How Many Sessions Do I Need?
The number of sessions needed varies based on several factors, including:
-
The type and complexity of the issues you’d like to address.
-
How deeply you wish to explore the root causes of your concerns versus focusing on managing symptoms.
-
Your commitment to practicing and integrating new tools, skills, and exercises into your life outside of sessions.
-
The collaborative relationship between you and your therapist.
While most clients attend between 5 and 20 sessions, the actual number depends on your personal goals and dedication to the process. Addressing symptoms may require fewer sessions, whereas deeper healing work often takes more time and effort.
How Frequently Should I Have Sessions?
I recommend starting with weekly sessions to solidify progress and make lasting changes. In some cases, clients may benefit from twice-weekly sessions at the beginning.
You can choose a 50-minute session or a 100-minute extended session for deeper exploration and integration.
Is Online Therapy Suitable For Everyone?
Online therapy is not appropriate if you are:
-
Experiencing hallucinations or a psychotic episode.
-
In immediate danger of harming yourself or others.
